KNECHT A 400 | Precise cutting edges – perfect cuts

With the A 400 Sharpening Machine for Sickle-shaped Knives, KNECHT brings an innovation that further improves food quality in the cutting process.

The cutting process in food production must be as gentle as possible. Squeezing – compressing – ripping etc. reduce the appearance and above all the quality of the food.

The A 400 produces perfect cutting edges on one-sided sickle shaped knives (without serrations). The maximum bevel width is 5 mm (0.2”). Cutting tools up to approx. 980 x 500 mm (38.6” x 19.7”) can be ground and deburred in one operation.

The cutting edge angle is between 25°–35°. It is set in the simplest way with an adjustment template.

The sickle shaped knives are clamped onto individually manufactured copy grinding plates for grinding. This guides them during grinding in the exact path corresponding to the knife contour. The original knife shape is retained. The machine operator moves the knife along the grinding wheels manually but guided by the copy grinding plate.

The grinding table is arranged at an angle to the user. The copy grinding plates have ergonomically designed handles corresponding to the cutting edge course. Teflon glides embedded in the grinding table reduce friction between the copy grinding plate and the grinding table to a minimum.

These ergonomically optimized individual components make operation of the sharpening machine as simple and safe as possible for the user.

The slowly rotating ceramic grinding wheels run in a water bath. This reliably protects the cutting tools from overheating during the grinding process. Out-of-round grinding wheels are re-rounded with the dressing device in the machine.

The A 400 Sharpening Machine for Sickle-shaped Knives is extremely easy to operate – it produces cutting edges of the highest quality.
